It would not only be one of the major steps in addressing or working toward the eradication of economic inequality but also welfare to secure the hands of millions of South Africans, especially those vulnerable in a very uncertain economy in the future.
The Reason of the UBIG
For several decades, South Africa has had to contend with extremely high instances of unemployment and levels of severe poverty. The trying times worsened by COVID-19 cause many households to become financially distressed. The Government has been considering how to bring much-needed financial assistance to house household members, particularly those not beneficiaries of social grants such as pensions or child support grants.
