SASSA Children’s Grants- An Overview Of These Programs
SASSA gives financial assistance to a variety of children’s grants benefitting eligible families, such as the Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, or Care Dependency Grant. These grants target reducing the financial burden on parents and caregivers while enhancing well-being among children, to ensure that all children from poor households get their basic needs.

- Foster Child Grant: R1,120, per child, is the amount given to a foster parent as a grant.
- Care Dependency Grant: R2,080 is awarded to the caregiver who cares for a child who is severely disabled and who requires 24 hours for one year for care.
