SASSA Old Age Grant 2025 : As January 2025 rolls around, beneficiaries of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) including, but not limited to old age grant recipients, are eager to learn for themselves the particulars news on payment schedule and others.   • Old Age Grant and Disability Grant: Payment Date- Tuesday 2nd January 2025   
  • Child Support Grant and Other Grants: Payment Date – Wednesday 3rd January 2025

How To Access Your Funds

  • SASSA Gold Card Holders: Disbursement of such payments would be to ATMs, partner retailers, branches of the Post Office. Make sure your SASSA Gold Card is current and not expired.
  • Bank Payment: This will make it easy for a beneficiary who opted for direct bank deposit to view the payment in the bank on the date of payment. 
  • Retailed Stores: The grant can also be collected from any of the major retailers such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers. Don’t forget to carry a proper form of ID along with the SASSA Gold Card. 

Eligibility And Application Process

These are the requirements to meet for qualifying for Old Age Grant:  

  • Age must be 60 years or more.  
  • Be a South African citizen, permanent resident, or refugee.  
  • Not have any other social grants for oneself.  
  • Pass the means test, which indicates that you have income and assets below a specified threshold.
