Toll Tax New Rules 2025: New Rule Implemented In The Country Regarding Toll Tax

As the year 2025 approaches, there are new changes being implemented in toll tax. The toll tax has been a menace for every Indian driver. The expensive toll tax has made drivers search for routes which would not have toll plazas. Besides wasting more time in travel, this has also caused an effect in the traffic. Now the situation is going to change. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a new declaration that the government is racing fast towards achieving its mandate of making India toll free. This is happening under a new GPS based toll collection scheme.

What Is GPS Toll Collection?

A completely new tchnology, for toll collection simplified and it becomes fast through this. This means that in the GPS based toll collection system, the tracking device of the vehicle will monitor and keep record of the location as well as the distance that the vehicle has traveled. The rate of toll charge therefore will be based on distance traveled and this will be deducted directly from the owner’s bank account. The best thing about it is that one does not have to stop at the toll plaza before having his vehicle on the way thus saving time and relieving the toll traffic.

How Will This System Work?

Every machine will be fitted with a GPS tracking device under this new form of tolling. That will track distance traveled and location of the vehicle. On entry into the toll area, the toll fee will be automatically predetermined and deducted directly from the owner’s account. The process basically demystifies, hastens, and simplifies tolling.

Tracking Through GPS Is Mandatory For All Brand-New Commercial Vehicles.

The latest chosen commercial vehicles should have GPS tracking devices installed. Hence, it is associated with the government’s commitment to bettering the toll collection systems. It is also extending to the existing vehicles where a recommendation for GPS installation is made by the government. This system permits vehicle owners to ride pass any toll plaza, thus increasing traffic speed.

Toll-Free India Vision

As said by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, the only task at hand for the government is to make the roads free-flowing across the lengths of the highways. The vision is that with this GPS-based toll collection system, the vehicles will not only be made to stop at toll plazas but also further improvements in the overall travelling experience and flow of traffic. Just imagine the time saved and the comfort being able to travel without stopping at an average toll plaza.
